jafa,

Descoware was made in Belgium, pushed out by Le Creuset and went out

of business and is now available only on the secondary market.

Descoware originated the variegated coloring now used by Le Creuset.

You are correct that they are both enameled cast-iron and comparable

in quality, but I score my Descoware for mere pennies at the flea

markets and so am especially fond of it. I just bought an eight-piece

set in perfect condition for forty dollars last week. Also,

Child herself personally favored Descoware back in the day. Yes, that

matters to me--that, and I'm a sucker for the underdog.

Alas, I have not made good on my Turbo oven promises. This tiny

kitchen is so overrun with new/used aquisitions I can't take it on

right now; I'm filthy with things and urgently need shelving or a

purge, one.

B.
