Guest guest
I know Kefir grains like consistency and need time to adapt when changing their culturing medium. I would like to use my kefir grains to make sour cream. My origonal thought was to take a portion of grains once they multiply enough, and keep them specifically for cream, but then I realized how ever would I use all that sour cream if I cultured it every 24 hours!!! My question is thus, if the milk and the cream are both cow (I use pasturized homogonized 3% milk, thats the best I can find/afford right now, the cream I buy is pasturized but organic, I wont by unorganic cream because of all the additives plus it's all ultra pasturized) could they be go between without any problem? Or would they still have to go through an adjustment period each time? -- Mrs. () Siemens Blessed to be his helpmeet, 6 years and counting!!! Mrs. () Siemens, Further, I use dairy kefir grains for juice and switch them back and forth from juice to milk. I didn't realize you had kefir grains now-- make some fizzy drinks! Gerolsteiner is expensive! B.
Guest guest
I don't yet, but should be getting some in the not-too-distant future. PS- I tried my fermented blueberry drink today in some carbonated mineral water, very refreshing!!!
