We're trying to figure out what it is, I'm between school & gfcf diet

responsible for Allie's big progress. I guess I don't want to think

diet since I allowed her to go off it a few years ago, but she started

making a surge in expressive and cognitive language a few weeks ago,

then got sick, but as she got better her gains have surged. Things

like coming into the room, making eye contact, asking us to do

something in a relatively typical voice pattern. She seems to

understand when we tell her things, or at least is responding far more

typical. I noticed last night she stayed in the room with us for a

couple of hrs, occasionally adding to conversations, laughing at what

we said, & stuff. A person who didn't know the situation would not

have thought anything different about her at all.

As I said, we were weaning her off gluten since about March-April, we

have gone fully gluten-free, essentially casein-free for the last two

weeks. We have had two infractions, but since getting the positives on

celiac blood testing I could not justify continuing to allow her to

eat it. Her stomach distention has also decreased. I also wonder if

not being in school is helping, that she doesn't have the anxiety. And

she's healthy, when she's healthy her behavior is always very near

typical.

That's really all we're doing, I haven't reintroduced any supplements

until we see the geneticist in a couple of weeks. Just thought I'd

share in case it could help anyone else.
