Guest guest
About a month back I sent an e-mail asking for information on this standard. About forty of you gave some good stuff to look at. There was some talk on how this would impact us safety pros. Got this from ASSE below and thought you might want to check out the article. A lot of people I am talking to from the legal and h.r. areas have a lot of interest in this also. Thanks, Tommy Greetings members: Hope all is going well for you. In the past ninety days, significant numbers of ASSE members have inquired about the newly revised American National Standard: ANSI/PMMI B155.1-2006 "Safety Requirements for Packaging Machinery and Packaging-Related Converting Machinery". Interest in the standard has been increasing from the membership, and those SH & E professionals with manufacturing/industrial responsibilities have come to ASSE looking for information about the standard and how to obtain it. ASSE has sold significant numbers of this standard and there have been many questions about the future impact of this document.Due to this request for additional insight from the membership, we have finished an interview about the standard with and Todd Ravazza. and Todd are the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Manufacturing Branch. and Todd have heard from many you about this standard, and we thought their ideas and perceptions about the standard would be of use. It appears that the risk assessment methodology in the standard has piqued much of this interest. We have put together a website to provide you some of the basic information about this standard. SH & E Professionals with manfacturing responsibilities have asked for this information and we hope you will find it of value.
