The Virginia Independent Consumers and Farmers Association declined

to comment on Bean and Rinaldi's case. But spokeswoman Elaine Lidholm

said: " Our goal is to bring people into compliance, not to punish

them. It is in the best interest of everyone if we can bring these

farmers and animal owners into compliance because the law is designed

to create a safe food supply. "

I'm sure she meant " Virginia Dept. of Agriculture and Consumers

Services " declined to comment...Elaine Lidholm is the spokesperson

for VDACS. We did NOT decline to comment, we were not asked for a

comment. Please email the writer, THANK HER profusely for the

article and ask for a specific correction to be posted prominently

and/or post a comment at the end. Editor….

" Those who

profess to favor freedom and yet depreciate agitation are people who want crops

without plowing the ground; they want rain without thunder and lightning; they

want the ocean without the roar of its many waters. The struggle may be a moral

one, or it may be a physical one, or it may be both. But it must be a struggle.

Power concedes nothing without a demand; it never has and it never will. "

> Asuredly compliance is their only goal, Not food safety. Its now

a crime to butcher ones own animal and sell the meat. How did our

nation surive the first 150 years without the Ag. depts?
