Guest guest
Hi , That's a whole lot to start all at once. Sometimes it's best to do things gradually so that if there are any changes, both positive and negative, you have a better chance of knowing what was responsible. When you say Nutribiotic, do you mean grapefruit seed extract? It's definitely possible to notice some changes rather quickly, especially by eliminating problematic foods. Other things might be more subtle or take a bit longer to manifest themselves. It might be a good idea to keep some sort of journal, so you can keep track of any physiological or behavioral changes. It sounds like you are trying to tackle a yeast problem, judging by some of your supplements, so you could see some die-off, which may cause bowel changes, skin problems or behavioral changes. You also may not see any of that. I would especially look for bowel changes, since you are drastically changing her diet and adding quite a few supplements. You will learn to be quite a detective, and since Ava is non-verbal right now, she cannot tell you how she is feeling, so you must be extra vigilant....and patient. > Yesterday I started Ava who is 2 on gfcf diet. I also started giving > her nutribiotic, glutamine, baby acidophilus & bifidus and regular > childrens liquid vitimin. Guest guest
I didnt think it was alot..lol..I just jumped in!..yes I am using the grapeseed extract..why is that wrong?..I got the advice from someone else, I was going to go with silver probiotics in liquid, but decided on this instead. I am keeping a journal and keeping track of everything I feed her and how much she ate, plus all her suppliments. And of course I am keepiing track of behavior and and any mood developments.. She is normally very passive so it will be easy to see any mood changes, I do know she has changed in the last few days..I watch kids for my county so I can stay home with my kids, and I watch 2 two year olds in the afternoon. They are both very verbal and play well with each other, Ava usually ignores them and does her own thing. But today she was playing with them, they were all walking around following each other. she was even the leader for a bit, she was laughing so hard!..I cried in the kitchen so they wouldn't se me, but I wanted to jump up and down and run outside and yell my complete joy of it..I of course didnt because I was afraid of ruining her moment. She never plays with anyone(with the exception of me..lol) and I am not saying it was anything we have been doing, but I just hope it comtinues.. > > > Yesterday I started Ava who is 2 on gfcf diet. Guest guest
> ..yes I am using the grapeseed extract..why is that wrong?.. I was just trying to clarify. Nutribiotic is a brand name, and they make several supplements and other products, so i just wanted to make sure it was the grapefruit seed extract. > I got the advice from someone > else, I was going to go with silver probiotics in liquid, but decided > on this instead. I think you might mean colloidal silver. Probiotics are something else. That would be the acidophilus and bifidus you are giving her. Colloidal silver has its uses, but if you are trying to tackle yeast, then the GSE is a good option. Have you had labs done to determine what her specific issues are? Guest guest
She had blood work done a few weeks ago, but that was ordered by her nuerologist for trying to find out " what made her Autistic " ..there is a DAN! doctor about 20 minutes away from us, but my insurance is getting switched around and I dont even know if they will even help with that cost, they havent called be back about continuing therapies next month..so right now I am trying to just do what I can, and have some kind of control over what is happening to us..I am not not sure about the yeast issue even, I am doing this by ear and have no plans on any period of time all this will take..(I wont be be doing yeast for long periods of time,I am not sure you are supposed to).thanks for the advice, and please let me know if you think of anything else, I have no family around and her Dad is in denial about all of it. He refuses to even visit. I feel like I am fighting for her alone, I am tired of feeling helpless about it, it is time for action. > > > ..yes I am using the grapeseed extract..why is that wrong?.. > > I was just trying to clarify. I lead a mom's group for ASD kids once a week and although much of the time we talk about our kids, we also talk about marriage, movies, American Idol...whatever. Maybe you can find something like that where you live. Our little group is also a great place just to vent about almost anything. Lord knows I've been doing it for YEARS! lol

Guest guest
Allie started talking about 5 days after we took out dairy & started eliminating gluten. Within 2 mos she had a 100+ vocab. She was like your daughter, it sounds like. She grabbed my hand, looked me in the eyes & said, " Bye bye? " She was wanting to go inside. A day or so later we were watching Mikey Waltrip near the lead in Talledaga race yelling, " go-go-go. " Allie started yelling it & laughing. It just kept coming. As to the supps, I cannot say. Guest guest
Grasping at straws is what I do best. The first time Viv said Mommy got me through about three years worth of uncertainty. I knew that there was more to my little girl than everybody else saw and now at age 12 we're starting to see it. Celebrate all your victories! Guest guest
Personally I don't think that's too much too fast. GSE is a great supp to tackle yeast and probiotics are good for everybody. Just make sure you give the probiotics away form the GSE as GSE kills yeast and Probiotics replenishes good bacteria in the gut, so GSE in the afternoon and probiotics at night before bed would be a good practice. Bravo to you for your courage and for doing all you do. Sometimes dads just need extra time to come to terms with it in their own way. Cheers, Dana Priscillas mom > > > > > ..yes I am using the grapeseed extract..why is that wrong?.. > > > > I was just trying to clarify.
