I LOVE that article and depending on how bad things get for me the next

time around...ya never know. Mine has gotten to the point many times I

have thought of much more horrible things. HG is awful and has really

no cure. They haven't found a link based on health, nutrition or real

deficiencies. True HG doesn't depend on blood sugar or just about

anything else for that matter. They only thing that ends up working

for me is Zofran.

Hyperemesis

Hyperemesis is an endless nightmare of gutwrenching misery that bears

little relation to normal nausea of pregnancy. It means not keeping

food or water down for days at a time, often requires hospitalization,

and can lead to premature birth and low birthweight. The usual blood

sugar issues are irrelevant - you have no control over what, when,

whether you can eat. It's incredibly hard on the mother's body, as

well, because the baby gets whatever nutrition is available, and often

the mother has no way to replace it.

KerryAnn - I hope I'm not offending you, but you may want to read the

article on mothering.com about smoking pot for hyperemesis. It works,

there is no evidence of harm, and if you suspect harm, balance that

against the harm of untreated hyperemesis. I would also consider taking

Bendectin if you didn't last time around, and starting immediately.

Yeah, yeah, it's a drug, but I wish someone had explained that NOT

taking something could harm my baby and my body.

Yeah its a shame that some of our best herbals....er....drugs are

illegal, for reasons that have no real legitimate basis, despite all

the illogical and conflicting rhetoric. It really is a sad state of

affairs but I don't want to create a lot of off-topic noise by saying

much more.

You might be able to have it prescribed or take it as a tea (or in

brownies, LOL). There are also some other controversial things you can

do, like find a health practitioner who is willing to supervise a

*short* series of *short* super dense juice flushes, but your window

of opportunity for that is running out.

Life isn't static. People change. Circumstances

change. What may have been true six months

or a year ago may no longer be true now.

Maybe a loved one got sick and died at a

tender age...Maybe they ran into an old high

school buddy who still looks great...At any rate

what they couldn't hear before rings true to them

now. So don't despair. Stick to the task. You will

eventually find yourself surrounded by people who

do care about good food and see it as a

legitimate avenue to great health.
