Wouldn't that help to evaporate some of the alcohol? I'm a wimp when it comes to strong bitter flavors, so I use a " Children's Echinacea " tincture, since the herb is extracted in glycerine. Guest guest
- >drink it!!! > B. > >/might want to reconsider the massive dinner, tho What do you think about my idea of keeping half for tomorrow for in case I wake up feeling refreshed and great, go to the farmer's market and then suffer something of a relapse? Better to drink it all tonight? And why should I reconsider? I've been starving on and off since yesterday, but I could never bring myself to eat much because my throat was so painful. Now I feel like I can actually get some nutrition into where it will do some good. I just ate some meatloaf (OK, not really nutritious, but non-harmful comfort food and no effort to heat up in a pot) and my intention is to have some raw liver and then a yoghurt-and-egg-yolk shake. Will that interfere with the effectiveness of the E+, or are you just thinking my system won't be ready for all that food? I've been guzzling ginger all day since UPS came by... -

Hmm, I should know that cold, but I'm not sure I can provide a definitive answer... That said, I'm almost positive that will have virtually no effect. The tincture would have to be added to boiling or simmering tea to really reduce its concentration, and then who knows how much damage would be done to the herbal components of the tincture. >I'm a wimp when it comes to strong bitter flavors, so I use a " Children's >Echinacea " tincture, since the herb is extracted in glycerine. Huh -- to me, that sounds hideous. I can't stand straight glycerine (and of course physiologically it's little different from sugar) though it does wonders for the texture and sweetness of homemade ice cream when not using actual sugar. The taste of the E+ didn't bother me in the least cut in water the way I took it, and in fact it didn't even bother my girlfriend either when she took a swig out of curiosity. -

Personally I would drink it as is. Yeah, it seems to me that adding boiling water would likely damage some of the components of the tincture, so I'm certainly not going to do that. On his site he says the alcohol content shouldn't be a problem, but that's because he's talking about people consuming tinctures in measures of drops, not by the bottle, which is why I wondered. >I will have to call down there and see what is going on. Did the E+ >numb your mouth? Maybe a little. I didn't notice anything at the time, but now, it seems like there may be a faint echo of numbness in my tongue. But I didn't drink it straight or all at once -- I cut it dramatically with water and had six droppers at a time. -

OK, I just had a much larger dose, maybe 1/5 of the bottle, maybe 1/6, cut with correspondingly less water, and it definitely numbed my tongue a bit for a little while. The numbness and the strange carbonation sensation slipped away in tandem. -

Also to answer another question, when you are massively sick, you drink the whole bottle. Otherwise, taking it over time is okay. But in your case, you needed the whole thing, and then follow up with the two dropperfuls on the hour every hour until the second bottle is gone. By the way, it is best to ignore the instructions on the bottle. They are put there for legal reasons. They rarely have anything to do with a particular persons specific needs. Yeah, like I think I mentioned, I wish I'd gone for two bottles overnighted. Though I'm mostly better now, I STILL have appreciable symptoms from the mold exposure, including a major unproductive cough that's really interfering with my sleep. I tried some Herb Pharm lobelia tincture yesterday (available at Fairway despite Schulze having given up on it) to no obvious effect, but it's impossible to know what to make of that. I'm leery of taking more due to the possibility of overdosing. I guess when my other Schulze order arrives today (provided FedEx actually delivers it) I'll take a bunch more E+. >By the way, it is best to ignore the instructions on the bottle. If, for example, I have giardiasis, how much of Schulze's liver/gallbladder/anti-parasite formula should I actually take per day and at what intervals? -

The good thing about most whole herb tinctures is that it is difficult to overdose on them. For example in the case of lobelia you would most likely throw up before even getting close to overdosing. Not true when the active ingredient is isolated. It can take you out in a hurry. Foxglove is similar from which we get digitalis. The wrong dose of digitalis can be the end of things quickly, but to much foxglove tea and you will just throw up. I tried some of Herb Pharms' echinacea plus and it wsn't to bad actually. I was surprised. Not nearly as potent as Schulze's but not impotent like most of the stuff on the market. And that is another reason why you probably don't have to worry about Herb Pharm's lobelia, it is probably pretty weak. Schulze often runs into trouble with the FDA cuz he makes industrial strength tintures, whereas as most herbal manufacturers make very wimpy stuff (or don't make it at all if it is the least bit controversial) so as not to run afoul of the FDA, which has a habit of banning herbs that tend to be effective. Now I wonder why that is? ;-) > >By the way, it is best to ignore the instructions on the bottle. They > >are put there for legal reasons. He usually recommends two DROPPERFULS per dose but writes the lowered doses on the side for legal purposes. This is usually pretty good advice except for the cayenne tincture. If you don't believe anything else I say DON " T take two dropperfuls of cayenne tincture. You won't die but for a few moments you will wish you had, LOL! The directions in his patient handbook are more helpful: http://curezone.com/schulze/handbook/default.asp I once juiced a bulb of garlic in a glass a homemade V8 I was making during a fast. Not a clove mind you but a whole bulb figuring the more the merrier. After I drank it down I was on the floor writhing in pain for what seemed like an eternity I was in the kitchen and my roommate was in the other room so he didn't know what was going on. I thought I was going to die (or at least wanted to). I somehow managed to to stumble to my bedroom. The whole episode lasted for only about 30 seconds. A few minutes later I felt great. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh but never again.
