Guest guest
Hello to all: I haven't a large experience with fasting, but have read and heard a lot, and here's what I want to share with you. Maybe you all know these facts. In this case, may the list be useful as a reminder. 1. Fasting isn't for everybody or every ailment. *Fasting* on fruit juices can be particularly dangerous for some people. 2. If you fear fasting, don't do it. 3. A fast longer than 3 days may require qualified assistance or personal knowledge about the diet before the fast, the symptoms during the fast, elimination during and after the fast (in some cases, stools can become too hard to expel), physical activity during the fast, etc. A longer fast is not all beers and skittles. 4. A very long fast is certainly good for building your self-esteeem, but it requires a lot of prudence for you to break it. If you've fasted for ten days, you may need five days to gradually return to your normal diet. There are cases of death of people who didn't know how to break a long fast. 5. The safest and best practice that can be followed by anyone (except maybe pregnant women) is a one-day fast that is rhythmically repeated every week or fortnight. 6. And a mono-diet (broth or soup) can be almost as efficient as fasting. And it's much less frustrating. 7. Fasting doesn't exempt you from the need to follow a sound diet and lifestyle. It's just a waste of time to fast and then pick bad old habits again. Cheers, JC
