Staph and sinus infections

I need to find the best info about sinus infections. I have client that has been diagnosed with a Staph infection and chronic sinus infection. I have little of the documentation, I'm going on oral history so far. Two courses of anti-biotic did not help. Here's the kicker, he collected a sample of building insulation which the M.D. then sent to the lab along with the nasal samples (maybe from 'biopsy' not lavage, but I don't have it in writing - yet); it tested positive for Staph spp. (coagulase-neg). The insulation tested neg for fungi. I don't know what the nasal sample results for fungi were. The M.D. wants to do 'surgery' - scrape the small sinus cavities and expand the large sinus cavities. However, the client also complains of lung irritation and difficulty with breathing.

I need more info.

25-30 per cent of the population has staph colonized in nose and are not symptomatic.
