We have chickens in our kitchen, temporarily, while we figure out where

to put them longer term. There's now an alert out on

salmonella-infected chicks in the area and I don't know what hatchery

these came from nor can I seem to find out; the nursery where I bought

them isn't returning calls. I'm keeping things as clean as I can but I

have a little girl who is cavalier about handwashing and after all they

ARE in the kitchen. Now of course I'm experiencing gastric upset (which

could be caused by a number of things) and I'm beginning to get

anxiety, as in where's my atavan anxiety. What can I do probiotically

to help? I'm already doing a lot of kefir and I'm about to mop the

floor with bleach solution. Keep in mind I'm a loose housekeeper but

this is making me freak because we just can't afford to be down with

salmonella.
