Air Monitoring - generalized VOC measurement

Dear Colleagues:

Is it just me, or does anyone else consider it inaccurate and misleading to call

the result from a generalized VOC detector, such as a PID, a TVOC value?

To me, a TVOC value is determined from a laboratory analysis with GC/MS

equipment.

Sincerely,

W. Bearg, PE, CIH
