Guest guest
I'm still married, been 11 1/2 years now. Sometimes it seems like just yesterday and others it seems like 20! lol, I don't really ever see us getting divorced but I'm also aware that sometimes things change and even though I don't see it happening now, next year or 5 years from now it could be a different story. Guest guest
I have been married for 14 years and we were together for almost 4 years before we got married. Things are ok but having a child or in my case children with special needs has definitely been putting some major stress on us lately. Our medical bills are piled so high right now it is depressing. We are trying to move back to AZ from Colorado because the state offers a lot more help and we need it! K. Guest guest
My wife and I were also married in 1989, and thankfully still are. Evalyn is almost 8(diagnosed at 5.) The only major stressor is we work different shifts, since very few baby sitters want to deal with an autistic child on a bad day. She leaves for work while I'm still asleep, and when I get home, both of them are asleep. Guest guest
My husband and I will be married 19 years this coming May 20th!! We have two daughters...one who is 18 (has severe autism) and one NT 15 years!! We are under stress no doubt about that...he works third shift and I'm a stay at home mom!! We have never had any real problems....we work as a team. The younger one is more trouble...she used to accept her sister...but now all she does is complain about it. I guess you just go with the flow. What else CAN you do?!! from CT > > Just curious...since the divorce rate is supposedly 80%, how many of you are > still married & how many years? Guest guest
Our 7 year wedding anniversary will be on the 24th of this month. will be 6 in June. She was diagnosed when she was almost 3 1/2. I see us always being together, I know a lot of people say that and hope that but I think we work so well together. Guest guest
, where do you live? Your situation is why I appreciate living in AZ, where the state provides hab & respite for parents. When I lived in IL & they only gave 60hrs/mos of respite, with a " body " with no training nor experience with my child, so essentailly, a stranger would come babysit her. No way was I going to do that. In AZ, I have providers I have had trained & who know my daughter, so I can even go away with my husband.
