I have low stomach acid and take hcl when it gets bad. Also found a new product

called Quench the Fire - Natural Esopha Guard. I get it thru life extensions

magazine. They have an interesting write up about it in their mag.

Dr. Trethart recommends Mastica Chios for naturally getting rid of the h-plori

bacteria. Both my daughter and husband and myself feel it has helped us. As

well as DGL licorice chewables. DGL research claims to actually help the body

grow new stomach cells! Darby wouldn't eat them but they helped heal my stomach

and my husband's chronic stomach problems.

I went these natural routes with Darbs although expensive because I felt that

the tests were so invasive. She used to turn a grey color when in pain.

You problably know that some ulcers need to be fed several small meals to keep

the pain away.

Another test to see if you have low stomach acid is to drink apple cider

vinegar and if it bothers you tummy you have too much acid.

I sip apple cider vinegar mixed w water, when I get stomach problems with

meals to aid in digestion.

take care

tracy

I dug this posting up because I'm concerned with my 5 year old. She's

pretty much always done this to an extent, but it seems to be getting

worse. She complains every 2-3 hours that she needs to eat because her

stomach is hurting. Sometimes she'll say it's grumbling & that's why.

When she does eat it's not that much, but I still don't like her

eating quite as much as she does, with our history of obesity I'm

working hard on developing healthier habits.

I'm wondering if she may have reflux or abnormal pH. Her feces is

fine, looks right color/texture. I thought about doing this test

initially to see what happens.

You all think there's anything else I should do? Should I take her to

a gastro? Seems like they're mostly useless, so I hate to start down

that path. I thought about getting a comp stool test to rule out any

possible h pylori or anything like that.

To highlight, she's 5, never been immunized, at times I wonder if she

may be a little " shadow syndrome, " biggest issue being a very slight

language delay that has virtually resolved itself. She's also a little

bossy, but I think that may be from being the youngest & always

feeling small. She does seem to be a little sensitive to artificial

ingreds, but I try to stick to Feingold-style foods as much as possible.

TIA,

Debi

wonder if the cider would hide in juice?

Thanks for the input. The big thing for me is if I can get a 5 yr old

to sip vinegar. I'm hoping we can get the betaine caps down her, about

to go to the HFS to find them. I think I need to address it soon,

however. I'll see if she'll take some.
