I would definitely call the doctor about this side effect. I am not sure if

Abilify is an SSRI, but whenever I have tried to take them, a lot of them give

me that feeling. It is a creepy feeling and it feels like your entire skin is

crawling. Like all of your nerves are just standing up. That's the only way I

know to describe it. I just can not tolerate most SSRI's myself, but maybe

there is another one that he can handle.

the hospital but has been home now for a couple days. I have noticed a

shaking/tremor in his hands and noticeable shaking when he gets cold. This is

longer than the normal shaking from cold. He will start IOP next Monday where he

will be assigned a psychiatrist. In the meantime, is this shaking/movement

something to be concerned about or can it wait til he sees the doc. next week? I

have a call in to my OCD son's psych. nurse who is always very helpful. Thanks.

Hi , did you find out any more about the shaking/tremors yet? Saw where

you have to watch for that, possible side effect, with Abilify when I googled:

•PEDIATRIC PATIENTS (6 to 17 years): Sleepiness, headache, vomiting,

extrapyramidal disorder (for example, uncontrolled movement disorders or muscle

disturbances such as restlessness, tremors and muscle stiffness), fatigue,

increased appetite, insomnia, nausea, stuffy nose, and weight gain

It is a side effect of ability that may go away over time. You didn't mention

the dose, but many side effects are dies related. It bears watching, but is not

necessarily a sign of toxicity.

He and I were mostly concerned that the tremors/shaking were dyskenesia. He got

a massage yesterday, followed by an adjustment by the chiropractor. That seems

to have calmed him down, less general tension in his body. Still has the

constant pacing and restlessness but seems more relaxed. We will see the

psychiatrist next Mon. in his IOP. He can assess him then. BTW, he is on 8 mg.at

night and 2 mg. am. He is 6'2 " , weighs 129. Yes, he has always been thin, but he

is thinner than normal.

is similar with height/weight. Bad mom, don't know exactly either, but

is 5'10 " or 11, around there, and last I asked around 120 lbs. Never has

weighed much, stick thin, hard to find pants/jeans to fit; so far 29 " is okay

but think he could go to 28 " waist. Interestingly, is pacing, restless

lately but then he is at loose ends since no job and through with college. But

his OCD does bother him, I see it. Just the walking thru the house, etc., isn't

something he's always done.
