Guest guest
My daughter is on Zoloft but we get the generic, and our insurance covers it aside from a $6 copay. I think because we’re using Target we get their special pricing on certain generics. Kim A. Guest guest
Thanks Kim. We lost our insurance when hubby lost his job. Son can be covered by Medicaid through age 18. I'm hoping I don't get him started on something he can't afford down the road. Glad to know there are generics - that should help a lot. Guest guest
We have the liquid Zoloft and our last co-pay was $49. We're about to switch insurers so who knows what it will be. Guest guest
Our copays are reasonable, 10,25,40 depending on drug. This may change for us as plan changes this summer. So far, we still have our jobs. Our kids can stay on our plan til 26. I am concerned about after this time how the kids will pay since 3 of my 4 kids take med. for mental health issues, and most jobs out there have pretty meager health plans. It sounds like your child would qualify for SSI as a child. If he continues to struggle as an adult, he could continue to qualify for SSI. It may depend on your state for meeting qualifications. We are having a recall election soon to get rid of a gov. that wants to cut funding for pretty much every social program. Hopefully, you live in a state where the gov. cares more for its people. in WI > We have the liquid Zoloft and our last co-pay was $49. We're about to > switch insurers so who knows what it will be. Guest guest
Yes. We are very upfront about the medicine and what it's for. She's happy to take it, as she knows it brings relief from the compulsions. My daughter in seven. We covered it in therapy before starting. There's only positive associations with it. We also use the liquid form so she doesn't have to struggle with taking a pill. We mix it with OJ and it's just a normal part of her breakfast. > ** > > > What do you tell your kids the medicine is for the OCD? Guest guest
I am fortunate to have private insurance through work and do not pay anything for generics. Ds is ten, so it wouldn't be lifelong, but until he is an adult. ________________________________ To: Sent: Friday, March 30, 2012 11:05 AM Subject: paying for medication  Just wondering if everyone on this list has insurance to pay for lifelong OCD medication, or how you are affording it. Guest guest
I have insurance that helps pay toward my dd's meds and I pay a copayment. However, I have to pay for her therapy out-of-pocket because the hospital where she goes is out-of-network and my deductible is so high, I probably won't reach it or if I do it will be at the end of the year. I am just thankful that I have been able to manage to pay for it. When I first realized I was going to have to take her there I didn't see how I was going to be able to do it, but we have somehow managed to find a way. It's like it worked itself out. > > Just wondering if everyone on this list has insurance to pay for lifelong OCD medication, or how you are affording it. > > Rhonda > > >
