Guest guest
Subject: Re: oreganol & threelac From: Irene Musiol <Irene.M@...> Date: Tue, 29 Nov 2005 20:03:23 -0800 >>>I am wondering about the dosage also. I have taken 10 drops 3 times per day with no apparent ill effects. But the North American Herb co says never use more than 2 drops 3 times per day. Does anyone know why? Also I wonder what the dosage for children would be. Thanks, Irene<<< Irene, Where did you find this dosing info? On their website? I just went there and couldn't find any dosing recommendations. The bottle says to take 1 or " several " drops per day. Pretty vague. Also, I was using Oreganol on my dogs before I used it on myself. I was consulting with a guy who had some kind of unofficial connection to the company, and he worked with a lot of animals using Oreganol. He told me to give my 10 lb. min pin 1 drop twice daily. This was supposed to be for the first two weeks, I think. But I don't actually recall the exact time period he recommended. Then I was to taper down to 1 drop/day for...I dunno...a month or something. This was to treat a bacterial infection, IIRC. In any case, I'm 130 lbs. so if I dose up from my dog's dose, I should be taking 26 drops/daily intially, for however long, then reduce it to 13 drops/daily, if I go by this guy's protocol. I can't vouch that he knows what he's doing but he *has* worked with a lot of animals with this product so I guess his experience counts for something. Having said that, I no longer take 10 drops/3x day. I felt like it was becoming to harsh on my liver. In fact, sometimes now I forget to take it at all. But I'm trying to do about 5-7 drops/twice daily when I remember. I also reduced my dose of Threelac from 2 packets/day to 1 packet/day. I think these two products have been a tremendous help in reducing candida. Here's an interesting study on the efficacy of Oreganol against C. albicans: http://www.p-73.com/pdf/AntifungalCandida.pdf Like I said before, I tried another oregano oil brand and it seemed ineffective. So, I'll stick with Oreganol. Suze Fisher Lapdog Design, Inc. Web Design & Development http://members.bellatlantic.net/~vze3shjg Weston A. Guest guest
You know I don't remember. I think it is from the book " The Cure is in the Cupboard " but I don't know where my copy is at the moment. I looked on their website as well and they don't say anything at all about it.
