Guest guest
> >> >> has anyone researched or used infrared saunas? >> We've had one for a few years and love it! It's one of the best ways to get rid of heavy metals and pesticide residues. Sweating is a safe and effective way to get rid of stored chemicals in the body. Whereas a regular sauna is so hot that many people could never could tolerate it... makes you feel weak, sick, fast heart rate, faint, dizzy, headachy.... a FIR sauna is tolerated much better because it uses a heat energy that penetrates the tissues better, allowing an overall lower temperature to be used. I highly recommend it!

Guest guest
> what is an fir sauna > > Far-infrared radiant (FIR) heat is a form of naturally occurring energy that heats objects by a process called direct light conversion. Radiant heat is also called infrared heat or infrared energy. Direct light conversion warms only the object and does not raise the temperature of the surrounding free air. This type of energy travels 2-3 " deep into the body and increases circulation and nourishes damaged tissue. FIR has the ability to penetrate, refract, radiate and reflect. The human body can absorb FIR because of its deep penetrating ability. When FIR penetrates through skin to the subcutaneous tissues, it transforms from light energy into heat energy. The thermal effect within the deep layers of the tissues causes bloods vessels and capillaries to dilate, promoting a better blood circulation, and the heat so produced helps to get rid of body toxins and metabolic wastes through sweating. FIR heat is not ultraviolet radiation but a narrow band of energy within the 5 to 15 micron level. The infrared segment of the electromagnetic spectrum occurs just below (infra) to red light as the next lowest energy band of light. This band of light is not visible to human eyes but can be seen by special cameras. We can, however, feel this type of light that we perceive as heat. Our sun produces most of its energy output in the infrared segment of the spectrum. Infrared heaters warm the body in the same manner as natural sunlight. FIR heat therapy uses the wavelength of the visible and non- visible light spectrum of sunlight that heats the body normally.Traditional steam saunas raise the temperature of the air to a very high level within the chamber to warm the body. Some people have difficulty breathing in this extremely warm air. FIR saunas work differently. Instead of heating the air within the enclosure, FIR saunas heat the body directly. The result is a lower power bill and deeper tissue penetration. In the FIR sauna, the body perspires and receives all of the healthy benefits but avoids the harmful and extremely hot air of a traditional steam sauna. FIR saunas are also safe for all ages, very young and very old. Some of the many benefits include better circulation and increased energy, weight loss, cardiovascular health, speed recovery from injuries, detoxification and improved immune system. Guest guest
thanks, very interesting. does it work like the sun in that it can give you a burn? > > > > > what is an fir sauna > > > > > > Far-infrared radiant (FIR) heat is a form of naturally occurring > energy that heats objects by a process called direct light > conversion. Guest guest
No, a FIR sauna provides all the benefits of natural sunlight without the damaging effects of solar radiation. Remember, this is IR and not UV radiation. > thanks, very interesting. does it work like the sun in that it can > give you > a burn? >
Guest guest
ok, that sounds good. i wonder if any of the gyms gave them. i think i will into it > No, a FIR sauna provides all the benefits of natural sunlight without > the damaging effects of solar radiation. Guest guest
We've talked about building one. I've wondered if a person could put one in with less expense than buying one premade, but I could be wrong. Debi -

Guest guest
Why do you need to take off your rings....? I may have caught this conversation on the tail end. I do go into a regular sauna. Just want to know the risks. Thanks!
