Oh yes I sure have had that one. The worst culprit for me is bad

oils...especially canola. I cannot digest it. I've also started using

way more HCL with pepsin thanks to Idol. Here's a link to the

post he wrote me that was very helpful:

This happens to me all the time unless I'm careful. What I have to do,

and I don't know exactly why:

1) Avoid non-soaked gluten and all wheat.

2) Take SAM-e, folate and B12.

3) Eat regularly.

4) Avoid bad fats.

5) Eat fermented foods regularly, at least once a day.

That's pretty much it. I sympathize, it's an awful feeling.

I had mild-moderate stomach pain for 3 years. The conventional doctor

tried to tell me it was because of post nasal drop (which was

supposedly caused by a hormonal imbalance) in my sinuses causing them

to open up and he put me on allergy pills for it... I didn't like

them so I didn't take them long. My illness progressed until my

stomach wasn't digesting anything correctly - that was pretty

unnerving. Around that time I got deathly ill from multiple symptoms

(no doctor knew what was wrong), I ended up out of work and didn't get

better until I changed my diet significantly.

And even then, I still get it on and off. It comes back when I eat

more than 3 meals with soybean oil, canola oil, or any other cheap

possibly trans fatty oils. It also comes back when I eat too many

preservative/food color-containing foods. Standard (non-organic) milk

products cause it in no time, even the organics do to an extent. Its

like my stomach turns off and refuses to digest because it doesn't

want anything to do with the stuff.

The burning when the stomach is empty - I found it improved immensely

with increased saturated fat in my diet. I had also been taking Cod

Liver Oil, so that probably helped.

The above two measures sort of helped with the third problem I had

(which was never being hungry). Adding ferments and other NT foods to

my diet helped that one.
