Guest guest
I have our 5 year old granddaughter over. How does one make butter? I hear one put a marble in a glass jar and moves it up and down for a long time. How long? Alice
Guest guest
You can just take cream and put it in a glass quart jar and shake it consistant is better than hard or fast. It takes about 15 minutes. The cream will get thick and fluffy then the fat will break away and you will have the butter floating on top and the buttermilk on the bottom. You take a spoon and scrape out the butter into a bowl. Then you rinse the butter with cold water until the rinse water in clear. Then you press the butter to get all the water out. then you pack it into a bowl. you can stir in slat if you wish before you put it into a small bowl to put in the fridge. Guest guest
you can make butter by using a kitchenaid stand mixer, hand mixer, or food processor, too. use a low speed, as the buttermilk will splash as the butter comes together. you will get whipped cream first, then it will curdle and stick together - that's the butter. rinse the butter with clean, cool water and press the water out. I use my kitchenaid stand mixer - it works really well. cheryl > > I have our 5 year old granddaughter over. How does > one make butter?
