Guest guest
I myself have > been getting 75-80 percent of my calories from fat for over two years now > and have lost almost 130 pounds, and all my blood lipids and liver values > and other bloodwork are excellent. Christie, I'm curious, in an average day, about how many calories are you consuming? Why I ask is that I think I'm eating too many total calories for weight loss. Also do you consume kefir at all? I wonder if maybe there are more *milk carbs* in kefir than I've been lead to believe - which is that the kefir grains consume much of the carbs. Also, do you exercise and if so what kind and how much? Also, if you don't mind my asking, what are your cholesterol levels, HDL and LDL - before and after the 130 lb loss? I _know_ that *high* cholesterol isn't an issue, it's just that I'm always getting the questions about eating so much (saturated) fat that it will raise the blood lipids too high. I haven't been to a doctor in about 2 years for my *annual* physical. Suppose I should go since our insurance covers it annuals 100%. Just hate to go to the doctor - specially when I'm overweight. The fats I eat on a regular basis are: VCO, CLO, some commercial butter and some raw butter, lots of raw cream, Beeler's bacon, pastured eggs, grass-fed beef with the fat, and chicken with the skin. Carbs seem to come and go with my emotions - still my choice of comfort foods, don't you know! ;o) Anyway, I'd love to hear about your blood lipids and anyone else's as well who've stuck with a 60-80% daily fat consumption for some time. Thanks, Rhonda

About ten times my body weight. > Also do you consume kefir at all? Not at all. I don't like it, nor do I like yogurt. I don't drink milk, too many carbs. I use cream and eat lots of cheese. > > Also, do you exercise and if so what kind and how much? Yoga, 5 minutes EVERY morning, some it's more like 15, I have taken classes as often as twice a week, but right now am between yoga teachers so haven't been in a few months. I lift weights three times a week for about 10 minutes. Heavy weights, very few reps. I walk my dogs twice a day, garden, do housework. Other than that I'm chained to a computer all day. <G> So I'd say I'm just average active and not much into formal exercise. > Also, if you don't mind my asking, what are your cholesterol levels, > HDL and LDL - before and after the 130 lb loss? I'm afraid I'm not all that interested in HDL and LDL as a factor, so when my MD told me they were " normal " (she said " excellent, " in fact) I let it go at that. I have an appointment not too far in the future, I will ask her then and try to remember to post it. My triglycerides were high when I started, but I don't remember now the exact number, however, this time my triglycerides were 115. I have a vague memory they were in the range of the low 500s. I'll try to get those also. Sorry I can't be more precise. I'll try to get this info at my next doctor's appt.
