Leah -

I operate a CSA within driving distance of your community. Our food

is biodynamically grown on Albrecht managed soils. We use Reams-style

foliar sprays to maximize nutritional density. We are raising

soy-free EM (probiotic) eggs, which, in other markets run about $10 a

doz (here, they are $3.50) We do rotationally grazed grassfed beef,

humanely raised pork, and pastured poultry. As few other CSA managers

can say, I presented on biodynamic farming at the first Nourishing

Traditions conference, way back then.

We are a biodynamic farm. All of our standards are beyond organic. We

are a grassroots organic movement CSA, not a USDA CSA, an important

distinction if you are eating for nutrition. (And ask me about it if

you are thinking of buying a CSA share this year, regardless of where

you are located.)

Moreover, our CSA has contributed substantially to nutritional and

sustainable agriculture education in this region (without the support

of the Frederick coop, I hasten to add). A couple of weeks ago we

presented a lecture by Salatin, last year we presented Sally and

Jerry Brunetti and others (www.gardeningforthefuture.com) In April,

we are presenting Mr VINNY PINTO, the foremost authority on effective

microorganisms, in a rare public presentation in the Frederick-area.

We also presented Sandor Katz this past summer. (What a blast! that

was!!) All told, in the past 10 years, we have presented 10 full

blown biodynamic food and farming conferences just outside of

Frederick, including Sally Fallon, Jerry Brunetti and Salatin,

among many others, as speakers.

The point with all of this horn blowing is that you sure buy a lot

for your region when you buy a share from Fresh and Local CSA! Fresh,

nutritionallly dense foods and community education, too!!

Moreover, Jerry Brunetti, probably America's foremost authority on

producing Nourishing Traditions-quality Meats, Dairy and Vegetables,

acts as our personal advisor when we make management decisions with

our land, livestock or crops.

We still have openings in our share list this coming (2005) growing

season. We would very much like to serve your entire community.

Contact me offline and I'll send you flyers.

You can see our web site at www.freshandlocalcsa.com .

WE service Bethesda, Silver Spring, town, NW DC, and Arlington,

as well as SHepehrdstown, WV.

Yes, we can offer you solutions for your raw dairy needs, also.

Looking forward to meeting you, Leah!
