Northstar is good. I mean, come on, Idol buys from them! ;)

I may have mentioned that I drove right by Northstar Bison on the way back from

a ski race in February. I saw a large bison herd in the distance out on the

snow-covered pasture. They have a large barn or two and a farmhouse, but I don't

recall seeing any grain silos. Perhaps they had one (they're so ubiquitous in

this state that I don't even notice them most of the time) but I highly doubt it

could have held enough grain to finish all their bison for two months. I haven't

personally investigated their finishing or processing practices but they are

emphatic about being 100% grass-fed on their website.

I have had order mixups with them but nothing too serious. They seem like nice

people and they know what they are doing.

I had a few difficulties myself, but after a while I decided that may

not be a paper person, and my very clear (I thought) emails just weren't as

effective as getting on the phone and talking to her about what I wanted.

She is very nice (as is her daughter) and I think does her best to please.
