Infant formula

Hi All.

It's my first time posting to this group. It's great to be here!

I've been trying to make the Nourishing Traditions formula without

success. Has anyone else made it before?

I don't have access to raw milk because I live in Canada. I don't

have access to non-homogenized cow's milk either. What I'm having

problem with is putting the liver into the formula. When you put it

in the food processor, it does not liquify but breaks up into very

tiny bits. These tiny bits then get stuck in the nipple when I try to

feed the baby. What do I do? Strain the liver out? Will that take the

nutrients in the liver out of the formula? Any help is appreciated.

Cheers.

I tried making the meat based formula over the weekend. I used a hand

blender to grind the liver in the stock. It seemed to liquefy the liver

fine. My child doesn't need the formula - but I thought I would try it

anyway. He took a few sips this morning - it didn't clog the nipple - but he

did not drink the whole bottle - so I don't know if they were any liver bits

that would have clogged it if he tried to drink the whole bottle.

It certainly looks neat, but if, like a VitaMix, it heavily heats and

aerates the food, you'll just wind up destroying a lot of valuable nutrients.

Sounds pretty cool, from my perspective as the captain of lazy!
