Guest guest
Hi Sharon: Yes, Lindsey did snore to a small degree. Until the ENT did a scope though the doctors couldn't tell that there was this airway obstruction. They went to the ENT at Chicago Children's Memorial Hospital for a yearly check up and it was then he recommended the scope to see if she had an obstruction. When the surgery was done they fround more excessive tissue that they origionally saw with the scope. So they vented her just as a precaution. I'm so glad that Lindsey's parents took her for this test or otherwise Lindsey's obstruction could have been overlooked. The physical therapy in Chicago also prescribed a little dose of valuim for sleep. I think (only my thought) that this valium might be offsetting seziures. She hasn't had them as of yet. She is 4 years old and we know that she will always be at risk. She was though on the valium when she began waking up at night. Now we know it was because of the airway obstruction. I'm glad now that we have this surgery under our belts and that she sleeps better. It was just awful for my daughter and son-in-law before so I can totally relate to the words of sleepless nights. This was Lindsey's problem though. She has acid reflux as well but it is treated with a medication and seems to be under control. My question is, did Lindsey snore to give you the idea to see an ENT? (9) has never snored but it makes me wonder if he has adenoids that need to be looked at. Anything to help with sleep.............. Sharon
Guest guest
Thank you for the info Bonnie. I will see if we can get started with an ENT to check out. I would hate to think we missed something that might be causing the waking. 's Neurologist even presented 's case at a seminar stating that we kept seizures at bay for many years with the valium for sleep. My Hubby and I used to say we were science experiments on sleep deprivation! I have learned to sleep when I can. I can even sleep sitting upright. zzzzzzzzzzzzz Blessing to your Grandaughter Sharon T. Bonnie Zagrovich wrote: Hi Sharon: Yes, Lindsey did snore to a small degree.
