I have been holding my breath and not mentioning anything on the groups but I

did post it to my blog. Here's the situation. When we had 's feeding

tube change to a mickey last weeks here's what happened.

The resident first clipped the long catheter. He pulled on it a little,

clipped it and clamped it so is WOULDN " T go into the stomach. He laid it down

and when he did it slipped off and it fell into matthew's stomach. The surgeon

said it was " no problem " he would pass it. This catheter does not have a

balloon but a bumper. I put a picture of the way one looks with a " bumper " .. I

just don't see how matthew is going to " pass " this thing without hurting himself

internallay. I have given milk of mag several times and he's had steady bowel

movements and I have carefully checked it. The catheter alone would be hard to

pass. Remember it's like a straw but this polyurethane and it's not " that "

flexible. We are going to see his ped tomorrow and I'm not leaving until that

thing is out. Nothing is simple with as you all know from experience

with your kids! Wish me luck and be sure to check out the picture on his web

site. The bumber is about the size of a dime according to

the Surgeon but it looks bigger. Please let me know if this has happened to

any of you. (I thought IF I didn't discuss it that it would just pass like they

say it would but now I'm worried.)
