Guest guest
Gorsh, this is such a stupid question! Anyone know offhand when strawberries do their major ripening? Overnight (like tomatoes, from ... oops, what's that gas ... ethylene?) or during the day/sun? My first ones are starting to ripen, but the mice are getting to them - JUST before they're perfect for picking. Like, one day before I'd get them. So I'm trying to balance the ripeness against the time of day I pick against the likelihood of the mice getting to them overnight .... ya know. So ... is the appreciable ripening of strawberries happening during the day or overnight when it cools off? Thanks for any brilliant responses to such a ridiculous question. MFJ Ideas are funny that way ... you go and let one loose, and suddenly it's crashing about the place, bashing up against other peoples' heads. Somebody oughtta control that. Pesky things, ideas.
