Guest guest
Friends, Video sharing websites like " you tube " have revolutionized the internet... and now anyone can watch any kinds of videos on this website. You tube has given internet savvy people a new way to express themselves, ranging from very interesting to totally bizzare. The two YouTube videos I want to share with you today are made by this guy Matt Harding. Let me tell you something about him. Matt was a video game developed in Connecticut, USA and he had be developing video games for almost 6-7 years since he was 19. He had the classical " job " burnout and also in his own words, he did not want to waste two years of his life designing videogames that teach new ways to kill. So, Matt quit his job, packed his bags and spent all his life's savings travelling around the world for 6 months. He set travel in 2005. He was video shooting his travels and while he was in Vietnam, on the bustling main street in Hanoi, he was doing this really really bad dance move while his friend was filming him. It looked very good during playback, and Matt decided to repeat this really bad dance in every city, in front of every monument he would visit around the world for the next 6 months. He put together a montage of videos and you can watch that here: Ok, continuing the story, the video became popular on yourtube and also his website and Matt had a fan following of his own. To his surprise, Matt was contacted in 2006 by Stride Bubblegum company (subsidiary of Cadbury Schwepps) to undertake another 6 month journey around the world and make a similar video for them... all expenses paid. So, in 2006, Matt travelled all over the world and made a second video with his trademark bad dancing...!! You can watch it here: I was bowled over when I saw these video, because it preaches that the distances are shrinking and we should become citizens of the world, and also realize that people are the same from within throughout the world.... only the " packaging " is different...!!! The song on which he performs is called " Sweet Lullaby " by a French " music project " called as " Deep Forest " . this video was popular on MTV in the 90's. these are some African Chants based on an almost extinct language from Islands. I used to listen to this song a lot while in India and I have it now on my iPod too..!!! anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the videos. I think they do make for really " cool " viewing...!!! cheers Ameet 1993
