Guest guest
Lynne, I haven't followed the entire thread but I thought I should share my experience with you. MY PROBLEM For years, I had insatiable hunger (from about 18 years old to about 30 years old). My life revolved around eating mass quantities of food (and fat). In college I had an all you can eat meal plan... I would eat 6 dinners at one sitting. It didn't satisfy my hunger, I just was physically unable to shove anymore food down my throat. Then a couple hours later I would order 2 large pizzas and eat them for a snack. Other late night snacks: 1 dozen scrambled eggs, 1 entire box of spaghetti. I weighed about 130lbs - at 6 feet tall. My cholesterol was around 130. I bought a blood sugar meter and my level would never go above 60. If I went a little be too long between meals, the blood sugar would drop to under 20 (the meter wouldn't show the number, it just said " SEEK IMMEDIATE EMERGENCY MEDICAL ATTENTION " ). My wife didn't realize the extent of my problem until we went on trips. She was pissed that I could only spend an hour or so to sight see, then it was back to a restaurant. MY CURE I knew I had digestive issues, so I started to clean up my gut. Then I started exploring a bunch of alternative options, including NAET (Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Technique). I went to a free Feng Shui seminar and the speaker had a wide range of health degrees, including homeopathy. After the lecture I asked him if he knew anything about NAET. He took one look at me and said " You have low chi in your spleen " . Armed with this info, I went to 3 alternative doctors I was already seeing. One of them, a chiropractor, grabbed a little " clicker " (a little thing that makes a tiny spark) and hit my spleen meridian on my left ankle. A euphoric rush engulfed my body - I was flying!!! WOW! It was amazing. Anyway, I didn't think much of it, other than the sheer enjoyment of experiencing pure ecstasy. A month later I happened to step on the scale, I weighed 20lbs heavier. Then the next month, I gained another 20 lbs. I started to suspect something was up. Even though I feared letting my blood sugar drop to levels that could cause death, I started to increase the time between eating. I realized I was CURED! By this time, I weighed 185lbs! YIPPEE!!! I tested my blood sugar and it would fall in the 80-100 range. Guest guest
Wow Dan! Do you know what that little clicker is called? I'm spleen chi deficient too. I manage it mostly through diet, because the acupuncture does wear off after some time. I used to get stuck in that ankle point all the time (in addition to a variety of other spots like the side of my knees), and I hate needles! I want to be shocked too! I'm starting to think spleen chi deficiency is just bad diet taking its toll on the body. My acupuncturist used to always tell me it was diet but he could never tell me what I was supposed to be eating. I'm so glad I found NT. -Lana > He > took one look at me and said " You have low chi in your spleen " . Armed with > this info, I went to 3 alternative doctors I was already seeing. Dan, IIRC, when I was getting acupuncture it was for an earth deficiency and the organs for that meridian are the stomach and spleen. There was a point just above the wrist my acupuncturist would always amaze at what it did to my pulses. Anyway, that kept me out of surgery for ovarian cysts, symptom I sought treatment for. I continued my SAD diet for about 15 years after, never being really satiated, fighting hypoglycemia futily and eventually getting thinner than I'd been since elementary school with muscle wasting. Would have never thought less food and 4 lbs. could make this much of a difference. Wanita
