Guest guest
They're traditional chinese medical or TCM. In china, TCM isn't considered " alternative " medicine, it *is* medicine. Its usually treated with herbs (considered the best) and/or acupuncture (inferior to herbs because it doesn't last). Spleen qi deficiency causes a white coating on the tongue in addition to light swelling and scalloping at the edges. I was spleen qi deficient prior to getting on NT. My tongue is almost always regular now though. I figure it was the Vit A, D, saturated fat, sea salt and potassium that got added back into my diet. TCMs are extremely specific with symtoms in addition to outward signs. Throbbing headaches are treated like something completely different from piercing headaches, etc. Do you think the white coating is related to candida? That would really explain a lot. -Lana On 11/11/05, 7nuns <monique7nuns@...> wrote: > When trying to research what Candida looks like on a tongue I ran across > some information about how in Eastern (Asia) alternative health > practitioners or ancient healers or.. sorry I don't know a correct title > for > them.. but anyway, they are able to diagnose specific internally weak areas > based on what a tongue looks like. Ayurveda (a traditional Indian system) also assesses some aspects of health by using the tongue. Here's a basic link: http://tinyurl.com/arufn (ayurveda.com) but I'm sure there's a ton more info out there.
Guest guest
Regarding candida white tongues.. it's called thrush. I looked at several illustrations and most of what is shown as candida is much whiter than what is on my tongue. But now that your mentioning spleen deficiency indicated by white tongue along with light swelling and scalloping at the edges, that's a pretty good description of what mine currently looks like. Seems that those little organs, like the spleen, adrenal glands and the liver are all very important. Well, I've heard of people having their spleen removed because it is believed to serve no purpose.. so it's a bit hard to understand how it can adversely effect someone. Well, there is quite a lot I don't know about how they all work and with my ongoing health quest it where I'm currently at. I too have added Vit A, D (fish oi/butter oil), saturated fat, sea salt, potassium and so on with the grass feed products. There's no doubt I'm feeling better, but just not quite up to 100% yet. Thanks for the info. I'll look up TCM's. > > When trying to research what Candida looks like on a tongue I ran across > > some information about how in Eastern (Asia) alternative health > > practitioners or ancient healers or.. sorry I don't know a correct title > > for > > them.. but anyway, they are able to diagnose specific internally weak areas > > based on what a tongue looks like. It now makes sense that the back of my tongue isn't looking so good based on the areas in that illustration.
Guest guest
, When a TCM diagnoses something as a spleen qi deficiency - it doesn't mean its the spleen that is having issues. They didn't really know what all the organs were and a lot of the assignments are off. I was spleen qi deficient, but it was my liver and kidneys that were suffering on blood tests. One of the best pieces of advice my TCM gave me was to cut back on " cold " foods. Spleen qi deficiency gets worse when eating cold, dampness-forming foods (cucumber, watermelon, beef, dairy) as a significant part of your diet. Warmer foods (carrots, lamb, potatoes) are better for the condition. Its pretty easy to figure out which is which - the wetter foods are usually cold while the firmer ones are usually warm. Of course, like everything based on the natural - this doesn't really apply to those fandangled new foods. I'm coming up on 6 months of feeling better. Although, eating fast food 3 meals in one week did me in for a few days. Those hydrogenated and trans fats *hurt.* Good luck! Lemme know if you find anything interesting! -Lana On 11/11/05, <monique7nuns@...> wrote: > > Regarding candida white tongues.. it's called thrush. The way I " got it out " was to practice food-combining (meaning I mostly eat meat and greens and fat, now); take trikatu; take triphala every night; drink hot water with lemon or fresh aloe juice every morning. I cut down on meal frequency and fast once weekly. For a while I took hcl and pancreatic enzymes with meals, not sure what did the trick but I no longer have a white coating. B.
