Kelp and detox

Greetings,

Does anyone know whether kelp has any detox affect or not?

I ask because recently our naturopath prescribed a certain multi-vitamin

supplement for

my wife and it contains kelp (and alfalfa).

She is nursing our daughter, so if kelp induces any detox, then it will all

end-up in the

milk.

Any ideas?
