Guest guest
Talking of foods turning green after cooking.... Recently, someone on my newsletter mailing list asked me this question and I had NO idea what to say. Any takers? Thanks, Deb " I do like sunflower seeds and have tried putting them in muffins. However they turn green on cooking. Do you know why? The seeds are unadulterated organic sunflower seeds. I usually use baking soda rather than baking powder ( needs a lot less). Usually use a stainless bowl " -----Original Message----- [sara] what is the bright green color that sometimes comes when you cook liver? But my question is: why would it turn green after cooking, and not be green beforehand?
Guest guest
Speaking of sunflower seeds--spring is almost here and I can't wait to get my veg garden started! I grow sunflowers and I remember reading on a package that the seeds would turn green when baked ---it could be the particular variety, because I don't remember mine turning green when we baked them to eat.
