Guest guest
<<What I am trying to say is that with many whole foods to get the most out if it you must eat the food whole crushing the garlic clove completely thru mastication releasing the compound during the chewing process of eating.>> The allicin in garlic (the assumed beneficial element) begins to diminish within 20 minutes after garlic is either peeled or crushed and one book I have says it is completely gone within 3 hours. Just peeling garlic begins the process of creating allicin, but if you swallow it without crushing it (either by mastication or using a press) it will pass right through your body undigested, I know, I've tried it. Guest guest
<<peel the clove first then shave the clove second then sallow and yes it will pass thru your system but with the shaved surface of the clove the production of " allicin " is allowed as the digestive juiced come into contact with the shaved clove.>> Nope, doesn't work. It has to digest. Jay
