Thanks,Sunil for the correction.

Prof RS Naik..was one of the few teachers during our ' 85-' 86 times...whose

best part of the day...in each class would begin....with the attendance

call,.......where each(infamous) student's name would be practically dissected,a

bit about his/her history...past and present...repeatedly enquired....before

going on to the next...making it,.... an more interesting 15 min affair, each

day.....than the lecture itself....

I don't know,if the same scenes r repeated even these days...

Dhanajay Deuskar (84)would be a master in recreating the daily scene back during

our lunch hours....when one of us would stand guard, near the mess door, to see

if Sir was doing his rounds, as he was our hostel warden, too.

Just off the track, but staying in Forensic,I happen to remember,Dr.Milind

Wable...of ?76/78batch,who had just joined as lecturer during our 2nd MBBS days.

Since he stayed in D block and was a Puneite and a close friend of Parimal

Kulkarni(82) and so also,of his brother Amol Kulkarni of our batch and in turn

of us all as well,......he would be very friendly after college hours...

But no sooner, his lecture would start,he would be a completely different

person, picking up poor sleepy Amol in particular up...asking the previous class

questions...and then rapping him for not paying attention etc, much to our

surprise..

But all said and done....thou,he wasn't good, which he personally admitted...in

speaking English...his mastery in defining and stating some of the Forensic

terms and penal laws of Medical jurisprudence was just superb...

He would go on and on in Pure Forensic diction...teaching us....those 45mins...

He would often remark... " Kamath...Boss hates couples....in a batch...and

so...please...don't be seen too often....by him.. " .

So,we(me and Seema) would try and avoid being seen by ..Sir...

After the Forensic final exams,when...Wable Sir...stopped his scooty at ICH

....and came up to us ..to whisper.....Amol murmured.... " Kamath...Lagta

hain.....Tu to UD gaya.. "

But...thankfully...it was to say...I had stood First...in a subject...which I

had least imagined.....

Good old days...
