Guest guest
Happy New Year Nerida, You mentioned that New Zealand was 'easier' on you........is the weather there cooler? Is that partly why? I know you mentioned you were on holiday and yes, I agree, that does make some difference. As far as warmer weather, I have a dear friend in Florida, with FM & CFS....she is more the FM component from what she says. She too, LOVES the warm weather, but has ALWAYS been a warm weather girl, whereas I have always enjoyed the cooler weather. I just wonder, does that make a difference? If I've always done better in cooler weather, is that why the heat effects me SO MUCH now? I just can't tolerate it!! I hibernate during spring and summer, not on purpose, but my symptoms are such, that I am bedbound the entire time. I get completely wiped out. It zaps me of ALL energy, tremors are worse, I'm weak, exhausted, brain dead, just EVERYTHING is worse for me at that time of year. I don't know, my doc says it's different for everyone! I agree! Guest guest
Hello, Yes it is the cooler weather that I find easier to cope with. THough both extremes are not great but in the humidity my energy is totally zapped by 8am-just as well I am an early riser. Well you might have a point-I have never cared much for the humidity even when I was well. This lying in the sun and frying yourself-never appealed to me, though that could have been the fact that I could NOT sit still either. hehehe A walk up the beach always appealed more. I guess when you consider that even well people (I nearly said normal hehehe) are exhausted in the heat and humidity so guess it makes sense that we are going to be affected so much more as well. Fortunately for some unknown reason we are having an extremely mild summer so far. A week ago we had the coldest recorded day since 1860 or something-for a December day-I am NOT complaining. Hope you are doing as well as can be expected Love Nerida janel450 wrote: Happy New Year Nerida, You mentioned that New Zealand was 'easier' on you........is the weather there cooler? Guest guest
OH, here our winters are much milder than when I was growing up (hundreds of years ago!), but the summers here seem to get hotter and muggier each year! I just can't take them anymore. We had 112 F (including the heat index) this summer and it was just miserable. I barely move during the late spring and summer! But I sure do enjoy this cool weather - it may make me a little achier, but I'm more alert and functional during these cooler times, so I tolerate the pain better too! Hope you can stay cool as much as possible Nerida! STL Jane nerida brown wrote: Hello, Yes it is the cooler weather that I find easier to cope with.
