Guest guest
this post has two parts one : my neurologist who initially thought I have a demylineating disease like MS (because " people who have CFS don't have problems walking... " *cough*) has now decided to send me to a Movement Disorder specialist who I will be seeing on tuesday. Anyone else ever been told they have a movement disorder? (and is it just me or does that just sound like a name for a funky dance troupe - *jazz hands* lol) but having said that - I share with you a rather a half funny / slap- worthy moment between me and my neurologist yesterday. When I first came to see him, I told him that based on what I experience, I believe my 'twitching' and difficulty walking is a result of extreme and utter fatigue. But he's not convinced. Doesn't sound like CFS, etc. So he puts me through all these tests. EMGs, EP's, an EEG. Was even talking about doing a spinal tap (eek!). So I went for a follow up yesterday and while I managed to not collapse in my travels and subway transfers (he's in manhattan, so I take 3 trains to get to him), by the time I made it to his office, I was beyond spent, and collapsed to the ground. He says, he wants to send me to get an EEG (his office is in the hospital) in hopes to capture something as he still thinks, I am having epileptic seizures. They put me in a wheelchair, give me an eeg which just gave me even more seizures and exhausted me all the more. So there in the lobby. waiting to see him after the test. i am in a wheelchair. my hair is all zany from the gook they out on your head when doing an eeg. I am barely conscious, and on top, they put a towel on my head so I wouldn't get a draft from my semi-wet hair. So, now that my dignity is completly gone LOL, my neurologist comes to me and says 'well, the EEG came out normal. Maybe you're just getting these seizures because you're so tired' THAT'S WHAT I SAID IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!! argh and yet LOL! *shakes head and laughs* just thought i'd share that. hope it gave people a good chuckle
