Guest guest
I finally made the leap and got my cats on raw pet food. The kitten went nuts for it. The overweight adult male protested at first but learned to like it pretty quickly. I confess i took the easy route and bought some that is pre-cut into little medallions. comes in a plastic bag for $10. They're eating a lot more than i thought they would. this is costing too much money. I think the brand is called Nature's Variety. I " m not sure but i've been told i can buy some at the hfs in a big log. How do i prepare for it my cats? Thaw it all, separate into little pieces, then freeze again? It's all so foreign to me still. I " m hoping my adult male cat will lose some weight. thanks, Elaine
Guest guest
Re: fat in a cat. Since Hugo tends to avoid fat (doesn't much like raw butter, eats only a small bit of the pastured egg yolk I occasionally give him), and since there isn't much fat on the beef heart I give him (and, when there is a blob, he nibbles around it and leaves it), I was thinking he might need more. In particular, I was thinking that more might increase the frequency of his stools. But yesterday I gave him some fat from my pastured bison heart (thinking maybe the fat on the grain-fed beef heart wasn't to his liking) and he still didn't eat it (and bison heart is his fave). At this point I just have to accept that he knows best what he needs--and that may or may not be what other cats need. http://www.taichi4seniors.com
