Yes, Lana, I have the same experience, only worse

because just the smell of processed foods make me

nauseous. Also, the smell or taste of sugar really

makes me queasy. When I let my kids have treats, I

stay away because the smell is so gross!!! I have

been off all white sugar for 3 years, and only have

raw honey on food. My little girl was chewing gum the

other day (she got a hold of some at school) and when

she opened her mouth to giggle, a whiff of that nasty

sugary gum about knocked me out!!! Iam so glad I

found Weston Price Foundation, those principles have

brought such healing to my body and mind, Juli

Hi, Lana!

Yes!!!!!! I'm not sure if it not as " tasty " as much as not as

" satisfying " ? The cues from my body more clearly tell me, " good girl, good

food " and " bad girl, bad food " . LOL. With NT, I never get that sluggish

feeling. Even eating out at really nice restaurants, of late, I get the

sluggish feeling, the burning in the mouth feeling (processed salt), the

low-grade headache feeling...you know how it goes. But yes, yes, yes and

even my 10 and 5-yo comment on it - but I have to work on them not doing it

at other people's homes. ;)

Inaccurate Taste memories?

Since I started eating NT, I have found other foods are far less tasty

than I remember them. Has this happened to anyone else?

Absolutely. Low-carbing too a whack out of the taste of processed

sugary foods, which I only ever ate due to carb addiction, and eating

more traditional, nutrient-dense foods has made even low-carb

standard foods seem pale and anemic by comparison.

That sort of stuff is really nasty, but I just remembered something

that happened to me the other day. I recently started getting raw

butter again, and I've been eating it in huge slabs on low-carb

almond crackers and also on anything else I can slather it

onto. Then I ran out of the pasteurized Kerry Gold I'd been using

for cooking and decided I'd use some of my girlfriend's butter

instead of wasting the raw stuff on cooking. Big mistake! The smell

was so noxious that I had to wash the pan and start over with raw butter.

Pale, anemic, unsatisfying... yeap, you guys nailed it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Although, I am a little sad about some

of the things I used to love.

Here's my only problem: if it doesn't appeal to me enough, I won't eat

it. Which is good on first glance, but when its fast food or

fasting... fasting tends to win out. I've had issues with anorexia in

the past (because I didn't want anything available to eat), so this

worries me to some degree.

What do you do if there's nothing NT to eat?

I just do the best I can. I'll eat the best available cheese, a

bacon cheeseburger without the bun, whatever's healthiest or least

unhealthy that will satisfy me the best.

what kind of situations, Lana? Over time I found solutions for a whole

bunch of happenin' events, but boy did it take a lot of trial and

error. And now I hardly ever find myself in that situation.
