In this article I am especially drawn to the description of Eisman being

" down to earth " . I think many more need be here instead of flying high

in Power and Self.

Following is a link and an excerpt from the Green Bay Wisconsin Press

Gazette.

/GPG0101/610290702/1207/GPGnews> Eisman came to the Midwest from

the East Coast by way of Washington, where he taught science and math at

an inner-city " experimental " school and worked for nonprofit agencies.

One of his jobs sent him on a fact-finding mission to Madison to learn

about a model program in helping disenfranchised youth. He said he

was so impressed by Madison and the people of Wisconsin that he decided

to move to the capital city, even though he didn't have employment lined

up. Along the way, Eisman got married and raised a family ? two

stepchildren and one child with his wife. He said his best and worst

days involve his daughter, now an adult. His best day was when

a was born, he said. The worst has been seeing her struggle with an

illness called fibromyalgia, a muscular and skeletal pain disorder

combined with fatigue. He said she is unable to work because of

diminished mobility, inability to concentrate and failing eyesight, and

has been denied insurance coverage. " That's why I am so devoted to

universal health care, " said Eisman, emphasizing that he would create a

single-pay health-care system similar to coverage offered in Canada. " I

think we have a right to basic health care ? And we can do it ourselves.

We don't need to wait for the federal government to do it. " Noralyn
