The method is described by Eisenstein in Wise Traditions article from Spring 2003. http://www.westonaprice.org/foodfeatures/Realthing.html This starter recipe uses ginger and sugar, but the starter then works for any soda recipe. I experiment all of the time with various root beers, ginger ale, " " ale (from fir tips).
