Guest guest
<Deb: I'm not ready to give up shampoo either! Just the soap for now.> For anyone who's ready: A few years back I began making my own shampoo by letting organic kelp granules soak in water for a while and then straining both through a tee-shirt material spread over a sieve. The gel that comes through is highly cleansing and, although it feels like it would be sticky, actually washes out easily. This is used in Japan and also in some US manufactured shampoos. More recently, I've had scalp sensitivity from, I think, specific detoxes undertaken to remove mercury. So now I use French green clay, not in the way you use shampoo (which many folks do), but as a masque on my scalp--applied and let dried before I get into the shower. This isn't easy to do, as my hair is long, but it must be pulling out toxins, because after the shower the pain is gone.
