I agree with . Gluten intolerance is a HUGE factor in fertility problems, but it generally manifests itself in high miscarriage rates, plus the kids that do survive have high rates of stuff like fits of anger, depression, and schizophrenia. I really, really do not want to live in a society where depressed and angry people lower the population. Some Asian countries have greatly reduced their population problem in a far kinder and gentler way, by making birth control cheap or free (even if it's just free condoms) and making good education available. The " natural " birth control that happens in nature is far harsher ... usually some plague breaks out in overcrowded populations, or they fight a lot. Or the normal tragedies trigger more deaths than necessary. If it weren't for a lot of intervention, the current tsunami tragedy would probably trigger a huge cholera outbreak which would spread to communities unaffected by the tsunami ... still might, at that. AIDS was probably endemic to Africa for a long time, but the combination of population growth and good transportation in Africa spread it worldwide and also across Africa. There is a good chance the same factors can spread a bunch of other endemic diseases worldwide too. Heidi Jean
