You would assume so yes. Maybe they are afraid to fight the establishment or

afraid to be exposed as having PSSD? Its too bad really. There is at least one

medical student on this board so someday there will be a doctor who has it or

had it at some point.

goodreau was a perfusionist, he had pssd and commited suicide not to long

ago. The fact that people still think these drugs are good for people with

depression is seriously an outrage. I hate this system. People think were crazy

when we try and tell them the truth, it soooo frustrating. I hate not being

believed. Were like the boys who cried wolf. This world is fucked

I was watching a Youtube video of Whitaker talking to the

psychiatrist Loren Mosher. Loren Mosher considers psychaitric medicine

to be very dangerous and treats scizophrenics without drugs and has a

much greater success than pschiatry. Anyway, Loren Mosher changed his

health insurance and so he needed a medical check up. The insurance

company rep asked what his profession was and then later asked what

drugs he was on. When he said none the rep was surprised and said all

the pschiatrists she interviews on are on SSRI's because they make them

feel better. Hmmm, maybe there are loads of psychiatrists with PSSD. out

there. I bet they feel a rightr bunch of nanas.

Ha! Or maybe there are no psychiatrists out there with PSSD because they never

come off the drugs! :)

I have heard of at least one who has it through the grapevine of people off the

board I have been in contact with (researchers). I am sure it happens. But its

hard to bring this up in public. I mean, just because someone is a doctor

doesn't mean they want to shout to the world, I have PSSD! I mean, I am

looking into getting some research started here concerning epigenetic changes

due to pharmaceuticals. It doesn't mean I want everyone to know about this

condition. I am not as brave as the guy on youtube sadly. I really don't want

everyone in my program to know that I have PSSD for example. I am sure its the

same for some of these doctors.

That is the problem with sexual disorders. Because of the taboo they are under

reported.

Maybe the insurance company rep was also another snake oil peddler.

Bob, trying to tell people about the dangers of psychiatric medicine is an

uphill battle. I could not believe how much I was detested on my ACT site for

warning people aout these drugs and for telling them that they don't have

physical illness and can get better.

Anyway, I got shouted off my ACT site because I told them that it was most

likely their drugs that was keeping them unwell. I spoke to them about

Whitaker's book but I was told by some that they weren't interested. Others said

I was completely wrong about most things that I posted there and that I was just

going over the same old stuff as usual.

I posted about neuroplasticity: the role that environment plays in who we

become. Epigenetics: how our genes can be programed for anxiety, or depression,

and how this program can be passed on to our children, but also, how we can undo

this program and reset our genes for wellbeing and happiness when we create a

safe and loving environment for ourselves.

I told them about the work of Professor Reuvin Feuestein who brings very bady

brain damaged, or traumatised, children back to normal inteligence, etc. I

posted all the hopeful stuff I have ever mentioned here. But guess what, they

really hated it, they did not want to believe they could get better, they wanted

to believe they had a physical illness and so they needed these drugs.

Also, when a doctor say's to somebody that they have a physical illness many

people feel better about this because now they can say that the reason I can't

cope very well is because I have this recognised illness (personally, I find

this theory terriyfying because I really want to recover - and now I believe I

can get better because I have learned that all these theories were just

marketing by drug companies). The parents love diagnosis this too because now

they can say it is not their fault their child turned out like this. But it

wasn't their fault anyway, they had a hard time as children as well and always

did their best for their children.

Lastly, when people take these drugs it helps some of them for a bit, but then

their brain counteracts which causes more depression (in the same way that if

you keep taking constipation pills the bowels will become more constipated - or

messed up - to try to counter the medicine). For most people the worst of this

depression only becomes apparent when they try to give up the drugs. But even

worse, many of these people need ever increasing dosages of these drugs to keep

the depression at bay. Now when you tell them that these medicines are a major

cause of chronic depression they simply don't want to believe you. To them, the

only thing saving them from hell is the medication, and then they will usually

tell you these drugs saved their life.

As you can see the drug companies have got it made on all accounts. They have

designed the perfect money making pills, one's that causes more depression in

the long run and so the terrified patient keeps taking the pills to ward off

what could be their worst depression ever.

Like you, Bob, I'm so angry about this. All I needed was someone compassionate

to talk to, but all I got was pills, which went on to wreck my life.

They may communicate privately through e-mail about "one of their patients" to see if any of their colleagues are in a similar situation. But that's a really slow way to spread the word.

Otherwise, I agree with you.
