Di-Pan is pancreatin, right? Unnecessary for calcium AFAIK but can be

helpful for digestive problems.

>In which order do I consume these things?

I'm not sure anyone's sure, frankly. I've often read that you're supposed

to take HCl before the first mouthful of food, but that doesn't seem

reasonable to me, because food prompts HCl secretion. OTOH, it may take a

little time for the gelcaps containing the HCl to be worn through... But

FWIW, this is what I do: a few mouthfuls of food, then all my HCl (and

pancreatin), then the rest of the food. Whatever supplements I'm taking

get interspersed with food.

What cal/mag are you using?

I'm sure that was fine, so there's nothing to worry about.

Meh, I'm using dolomite because I have it in the cabinet. Also, I

thought I'd run a little experimant: since I'm getting spots on my

nails, I'll be able to see if they clear up with the supplement.

Go ahead, tell me the bad news.

Yeah, sorry, but dolomite is often contaminated with lead. I'd avoid it if

I were you.

As to spots, do you mean white spots? That's generally zinc-related, not

calcium. Still, calcium is a good thing, but I'd recommend MCHC, and for

magnesium, taurate. I know where to get half a kilo of MCHC for $35, but I

don't know about its origins or quality yet. I haven't found a source of

pure magnesium taurate, though.

I do mean white spots. I've just run off to the kitchen and whipped

out the zinc-test liquid and it tastes plenty metallic. What has

changed in my diet, recently, is I've cut down on dairy

products--cheese in particular--to a bare minimum. Because of my

weeny-ness re: timing of the cal/mag supps, I'm now seeing signs of

deficiency, i.e. leg cramps/nail spots. (I'm under the impression

that white spots mean either/or cal/zinc deficiency.)

Go ahead, send me your source; invite me onto the mail-order supp

merry-go-round.

Despite all the liver and other meat I eat, I'm still apparently zinc

deficient. Obviously my digestion still isn't up to snuff. But anyway,

the number of things zinc affects is amazing.

Leg craps do suck. Since more or less giving up on Dr. Schmid's calcium

supplement, at least for the time being, I've had foot and leg cramp

problems a little.

I've mostly read that the calcium connection to fingernail spots is a myth,

but who knows, other people say the zinc connection is a myth too. I guess

it's not exactly settled, like many things.

OK, but offlist since I haven't done adequate due diligence yet. I am

waiting to hear back from them, though.
