Vitamin C/A questions

With the cold/flu season recent, our family was consuming a lot of

Vitamins A and C, both as a preventative, and in increased doses

during colds. Now I've noticed that several of us are having problems

with more bruising, and also have more visible capillaries. What

effects can the increased doses have on depleting other nutrients? Do

we need to add certain other nutrients into our diets to compensate

for this ?
