Hi Robin,

i have palm oil from Tropical Traditions (tropicaltraditions.com) but

i didn't order it; they sent it to me by mistake and didn't ask me to

send it back like i thought they would.

but i have no idea what to do with it so i haven't used it yet.

what should i use palm oil for?

Hi , Well, I was planning to use palm oil for cooking, frying

especially at a bit higher heat than I would use, say, coconut oil. I'd use

it like lard but when I didn't want the taste of bacon in the food.. I

thought it would be nice to have another oil to choose from. I'm curious as

to its flavor? ~Robin

Robin, a friend of mine ordered some from TT and she said it turns

everything orange. it IS a lovely orangish reddish color.

the TT web site says palm oil is very high in vit. e and they recommend

it for cooking. i wrote to them and asked them...doesn't that destroy

the vit E? she said no, Vit E is very heat tolerant.

i find that very hard to believe.

i didn't think any vitamins were NOT destroyed by heat.

Robin, i finally opened one up last night to taste it; it has a mild,

pleasant flavor. but i have no idea how to describe it.

>Hi Pratick,

TT sent me palm oil by mistake. the only thing i use it for is tomato

sauce...because it is so red/orange anyway.

i asked someone on the web site, and they said that cooking does not

destroy the vit E. that really surprised me.
