Guest guest
About a year ago I read a GREAT article on mercola.com with very detailed scientific info on what happens when an insulin resistant person od's on carbs. It was enough to make anyone stop overeating carbs! I've been searching mercola's site and the article's not there anymore (( I emailed mercola.com and they gave me a brush-off. (btw it was NOT this article " Insulin and Its Metabolic Effects " - it was very scientific but graphic in its description of what actually happens to the body when the sugar remains in the bloodstream because it isn't taken up by the cells.) I can't believe it's not there anymore. Oh I wish I had that article! Because I need to convince someone close to me -- in a visceral way -- to watch their carb intake. This person is overweight (but not obese), has hair loss, and has a congenital heart defect. When he eats high carb I can actually hear his heartbeat change for the worse (faster, less steady). What's the best book or article that would make someone like him say " Omigod - Excess carbs are killing me. It's not just a vanity and weight loss issue. It's life or death. " What book or article would make a person get the full picture on what carbs do to an insulin resistant person? THX, DB
