Guest guest
, BPNH means Bilateral Periventricular Nodular Heteropia Bilateral periventricular nodular heterotopia (BPNH) is a recently recognized malformation of neuronal migration, and perhaps proliferation, in which nodular masses of gray matter line the walls of the lateral ventricles This is an article wrote Dr. Dobyns about it: http://www.neurology.org/cgi/content/abstract/49/4/1042 Donna

Guest guest
Donna, Interesting stuff. nela's MRI report indicates gray matter heterotopia in the left lateral ventricle along with the PMG dx. However, wouldn't call the effects " mild " in her case. She has lennox gastaut and severe mental retardation from it. She see's Dobyn's in March. Guest guest
Penny, Has Dobyns seen you daughter's MRI yet? She could be another child with the unusual dx of BPNH-PMG.. There is another person on here also with that dx. As you can see by his email to me they have not located the gene yet for it. I've heard there are only about 20 cases worldwide. Let me know how the appt goes with Dr. Dobyns. Take care, Donna
Guest guest
Not yet. In fact I just asked my husband to follow up with her regular Neuro to see if he has sent all of her records and films to Dobyn's yet. I was hoping that if Dobyns had her information we could start pestering him to see if he could tell us anything in advance of her appointment in March.
