Guest guest
- >I >wonder if I wouldn't be better off just making a broth out of it? That's the 64-million-dollar question, isn't it. It depends on how sensitive to heat the compounds in the antler are, and unfortunately I have no idea. You might try some googling to discover whether most deer antler supplements are raw or low-temp, though, and whether any studies have been done with either raw or heat-treated extract. -

It's reindeer antler. I just wonder how long it will last in the fridge. I'll eat it raw for a while then I'll cook the rest if it gets too skanky. B. /I'd eat it

I'd imagine it's similar, though. >I just wonder how long it >will last in the fridge. I'll eat it raw for a while then I'll cook >the rest if it gets too skanky. How much did you get? And how much did it cost, for that matter, if you don't mind saying? I know deer antler supplements are absurdly expensive, though they've really helped my joint problems in the past. I'd think it might be too late by the time it starts smelling bad, though, but whether freezing is a good idea is anyone's bet. Perhaps more googling would help. -

AV recommends skinning and grating > one tablespoon/day as long as it lasts, which could be months. I > wonder if I wouldn't be better off just making a broth out of it? > Soliciting opinions. , What's AV's purpose of this, if you don't mind me asking? Do know that deer antler is a Chinese medicinal. Antler is compressed hair. You need to wear a mask and not breathe any in as it can become lodged in your lungs. That's what Native American antler carvers do. Wanita
