My name is . My son is almost 3 with PMG. We are going to Chicago on the 15th of this month to see Dr. Dobbyns. Any info you have would be helpful. Or anyone else out there. How did the appt. go? What did he do? What were the results? and any answers about insurance would be great. We just want to go there with as much info as we can. Especially since we are on the west coast and it is a long way to go. Thanks and Caleb
Guest guest
We had private insurance at the time...but would have paid for it ourselves based on the value of what he tought us. Thats a tough one...we now have our son on CT medicaid and they would deny it as well...but it was invaluable to us... he rediagnosed and gave us a doorway to understanding that no one else could. Good luck. Jim Farris wrote: Hi all, Long time lurker here with a question. For those of you whose children have Medicaid for another state besides Illinois, and have seen Dr. Dobbyns, how did you pay for it? I was called 3 times by the hospital and told that Dr. Dobbyns, along with the hospital, did not participate in the WI Medicaid program, and canceled our appointment. Any and all ideas welcome. We'd really like to see this guy, but I'm not gonna shell out a ton of money to do it. Thanks in advance, Jim
Guest guest
We were going to pay for the appointment. It was only about $200-$300 if I remember correctly. I ended up canceling the appointment due to the information we already received from Dr. Dobyns and the Walsh Lab for free. He and the Walsh lab will review the MRI for free. If that is what you were going to see him for, then just send him a copy. -Steve Jim Farris wrote: Hi all, Long time lurker here with a question. Guest guest
We never visited the walsh lab. They reviewed our son's films and we have participated in their study via mail. Dr. Barkovich reviewed the films and basically said the same thing as Dr. Dobyns. -Steve Doyle wrote: Steve, We are going to the Walsh lab in March.
